HONOR BY PROPOGANDA

BILL FRIST

Not surprisingly, Bill Frist has come out urging people "simmer down on the censorship calls" on pulling the Path to 9/11 abomination. I say "not surprising" because Frist has always been the administration's mouthpiece in Congress. He's a laughable human being who is still entertaining a White House run after being Bush's Senate lapdog for half a decade now. He's like Congress' version of Tony Blair. His full statement is at his blog (yes, he has a blog):

With all the information available about all the hateful efforts of the terrorists to strike America since the late 1980s -- easily available by one click on the Internet -- let's simmer down on the censorship calls and honor the memory of 9/11 by letting people see ABC's The Path to 9/11 and draw their own conclusions about the Islamofascist war against America.

Written by Bill Frist, M.D.
Is this boob serious?! We should "honor the memory of 9/11 by letting people see" this offensive propoganda with no sort of rebuttal allowed?! How the hell does viewing a movie that shits on the memory of 9/11 by exploiting the attacks and the deaths for horrendously partisan purposes "honor the memory of 9/11"? In the mental list I have in my head of how to honor the memory of 9/11, watching this abortion does not even qualify for the list.

"... draw their own conclusions about the Islamofascist war against America." I'm not actually even sure what that sentence means, but if I hear "Islamofascist" one more time I think I'm gonna go jihad on someone's ass. It's a made up word that's contradictory in its very nature and does nothing by exacerbate an already terrible situation. As far as letting people draw their own conclusions because there's like an internet and stuff, let me let the "television doctor" in on a little secret - many American's wouldn't know their way around the internets with a road map. And I would assume that even those who do know about search engines aren't going to take the initiative and try to find out what really went down. I've got a confession to make; back in 1992 I went and saw JFK, and I basically accepted it as the god's honest truth for years. I've since read half a dozen books on the subject and formed my own opinions, but that was years later. People are going to watch this film and believe that it's the honest truth because ... why would the TV lie to them?
Finally, I'd love to hear what Frist had to say about the Reagan biopic that was to run on CBS back in 2003 but was pulled due to pressure from the right wing. Somehow, I don't think that he would have issued the following statement on his blog:

With all the information available about Ronald Reagan's presidency during his time in office in the 1980s -- easily available by one click on the Internet -- let's simmer down on the censorship calls and honor the memory of Ronald Reagan by letting people see CBS's The Reagans and draw their own conclusions about the former president of the United States.

I didn't like Syrianna all that much. I wanted to, but just couldn't get into it. Still, I'm sure it's better than that ABC propaganda. My thoughts on the movie not withstanding, you've made a wise choice/
