SHUT UP AND SING
DIXIE CHICKS
There's a new documentary coming out chronicling the saga of the Dixie Chicks as they dealt with the repercussions of publicly expressing their disdain for George W. Bush. In twelve simple words, their lives were turned upside down, and it's amazing and heartbreaking to see all that they have had to go through since that fateful day in 2003 during the height of Bush's popularity. Here's the trailer:
To refresh everyone's memory, this is what they said: "... [W]e're ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas." That is all that it took for people to go apeshit nuts on someone expressing an opinion. It's easy these days to be anti-Bush; after all, his approval ratings are in the toilet and it seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. But the Dixie Chicks' said something when it was politcally incorrect to do so and they have suffered greatly for it.
The movie is set for limited release on October 27 and in expanded release on November 10. Be on the lookout for it.

The Dixie Chicks' video for "Not Ready To Make Nice" just concluded a 13-week run at #1 on VH-1's TOP 20 video countdown. I guess they showed them didn't they?
But...but...Peggy 'Magical Dolphins' Noonan says the left is so shrill and uncivil, unlike the right...
