NOW!

The "real" agenda of the Democratic majority is all well and good. I support it. However, there are a two issues that must be addressed now.

There is no time to wait. We must act now. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is more important than these two issues, and they cannot wait, not a day, not an hour, not one, single minute more. One second is unconscionable.

Bush & Co. belong in prison for not having addressed them to this point.

#1
End the horrors in Africa
I understand that the Congress does not conduct foreign policy, however, surely they could find a way to influence the administration or to bolster the U.N. to end the genocide in Darfur, the mass murders in the Congo, the war in Uganda, and the mass rape being conducted in all these places and even more.

PLEASE!

Why is this not at the top of the agenda in every country in the world? Could it have anything to do with oil?

Which brings me to...

#2
Global warming
We are at the tipping point. There is no more time for bullshit and politics and capitalism. If we are all to live, if our children are to live we must act now.

The very first thing we must do is something we must not do. We must not allow Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., to be appointed the next Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

"Environmentalists say any global warming policy must be accompanied by higher fuel economy standards for cars and light trucks. On that issue, they worry that Dingell, who represents thousands of auto workers and is a strong ally of the auto industry, could stand in the way.

Dingell has opposed raising those standards because of concerns that jobs could be lost and automakers might suffer even more than they are now economically."

Democrats cannot put the fox in the chicken coop as their first order of action to literally save this planet. Oppose it. Email Pelosi. This cannot happen. We must have an environmentalist in this key position.

Then, Congress must immediately move to reduce greehouse gas emissions and increase fuel economy. And these are just the first steps.

There is one bright spot of news. Bush was sued Tuesday under the Global Change Research Act of 1990.

you kinda sound rather frenetic, i.e. chicken little?

for somebody who preaches moderation, how about using a bit of it here?
